EMPOWER 7’s 2ND ANNUAL 5K & 1 MILE FUN RUN
Empower 7 hosted its 2nd Annual 5K Race and 1-Mile Fun Run on June 25th at the Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium in Rockwall, TX. One hundred seventy-nine participants from Costa Rica, Florida, and the Lone Star State of Texas joined our RACE TO EMPOWER in person or virtually. Proceeds from the event support The Empower7 Ranch building campaign and programs for at-risk teens in North Texas.
“Once again, our Event Chair, Vida Valk, the 5K Committee, and a team of volunteers planned and hosted a successful 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run for Empower7,” said Melanie Cobb, Empower 7’s President and Founder. “I am thankful for the support from our sponsors and the dedication of our volunteers and community for rallying around our fundraising goals. We are looking forward to hosting our 3rd annual event next Summer.”
All participants that finished the 5K, 1 Mile or Virtual Race received a finisher medal. Empower 7 gave out 52 trophies to the winners of the 5K for overall male/female, masters male/female, and male/female for 1st/2nd/3rd place for age groups.
5K winners include:

- Hector Lopez of Garland won Top Male Finisher – Overall
- Martha Davila of Irving won Top Female Finisher – Masters
- Matthew Kulwicki of Kaufman won Top Male Finisher – Masters
